Bruce Tanner, OD

Dr. Bruce Tanner graduated with Honors from Brigham Young University in Spanish and business and later received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Oregon.

While attending Pacific University, Dr. Tanner was involved in several clubs and volunteer groups including the Sports Vision Club and the Head Start Vision Screening Association. During those same 4 years, he also volunteered as a bilingual student-doctor offering eye exams in Spanish to the local Latino population.

During his fourth year of optometry school, Dr. Tanner completed a clinical externship at the Mann-Graff Veterans Affair Hospital in Spokane where he gained in-depth knowledge on how to diagnose and treat macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye disease. He also has experience fitting specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Tanner enjoys being involved in the community and volunteers as a leader in his local church.

Originally from Utah, Dr. Tanner knows what life in the Rockies is like and is excited to be a part of the Woodland Park community. He enjoys playing sports and being outdoors with his wife and kids.

Thomas W. Cummings, OD

Dr. Thomas Cummings was born in Florida but grew up most of his life in New York State. After graduating as the salutatorian of his high school class, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry summa cum laude from Eisenhower College in Seneca Falls, NY. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry, following which he completed a one-year fellowship in Ocular Disease Evaluation and Treatment at Capital Eye Consultants in Fairfax, Va.

Dr. Cummings started his private practice in Woodland Park in 1993. He enjoys specialty contact lens fitting, ocular disease management, and refractive surgery comanagement in addition to primary care optometry.

His wife, Ann, is a teacher in the Woodland Park School District. He has a daughter, Maureen, and a son, Sam.
